The springs run at about 32.5°C — warm rather than hot, and pleasant to sit in for a long time. Do not come expecting a resort. Banja Ljig is a modest facility in a modest place, and it earns its entry here on the strength of the distance and the temperature rather than on anything built around them.
Local tradition holds that the Romans knew these springs, as it does at a good many Serbian banje. We have found no independent confirmation of that here and report it as the local claim it is.

Thermomineral Water at 32.5°C
The water comes from several thermomineral springs at around 32.5°C. Its recorded composition includes potassium, calcium, aluminium, manganese, iron, sodium, magnesium and ammonium.
It is used both for bathing and for drinking, and is locally associated with rheumatism, arthritis and some skin conditions. That association is the traditional one attached to the spring; this guide reports it rather than endorsing it, and it should not be read as a clinical indication list.
At 32.5°C the water is below body temperature, which means comfortable, unhurried bathing rather than the short supervised sessions the hotter Serbian springs require. What we cannot tell you is how that bathing is organised on site — whether there is a public pool, what it costs, and when it is open. Confirm before setting out; the drive is short enough that a wasted trip is a small loss, but it is still worth a telephone call.
Getting There
Getting to Banja Ljig
By car it is 84 km from Belgrade and roughly 74 minutes, heading south-west towards Ljig. That makes it one of the closest thermal waters to Belgrade — though Obrenovačka Banja, at 31 km, is closer still.
Ljig sits on the main road south, so intercity buses from Belgrade towards Čačak and Kraljevo pass through the town, and the spa is a short local hop from there. Check current departures rather than assuming a convenient return.
If you are making a day of it, Banja Vrujci is in the same direction and rather better equipped, and Rajac and Rudnik give the area some walking.
