Kanjiža itself is a small town with a handful of guesthouses and private apartments, some of them better value than the hotel if you do not need direct access to the treatment rooms. English listings are limited; Hungarian is more useful here than English.
Subotica, about forty minutes away, is the obvious larger base if you want restaurants, architecture and a choice of hotels, and it works well combined with Palić.
Getting There
Getting to Kanjiška Banja
By car it is 200 km from Belgrade and about 150 minutes: the A1 motorway north towards Subotica, then east across the plain to Kanjiža on the Tisa. The roads are flat and fast, and the last stretch runs through Vojvodina farmland.
Kanjiža is close to the Hungarian border crossing at Horgoš, which makes the spa easy to reach from Szeged and, at a stretch, from Budapest. That proximity is why a good share of its guests are Hungarian.
By public transport, route yourself via Subotica, which has frequent trains and buses from Belgrade and Novi Sad, and continue by regional bus or taxi. We have not verified a direct Belgrade–Kanjiža service, so do not plan around one without checking current timetables.
